ALEX NAVARRO is a New York City based pianist, keyboardist, music director, composer, arranger and educator.  Widely known as Engelbert Humperdinck's music director and pianist since  2007 to 2015, his list of other notable recording and performance credits include artists, Rod Stewart, Queen Latifah, Carly Simon, Art Garfunkel, Natasha Bedingfield, Rita Wilson, Patrizio Buanne, Tom Chapin, Doc Powell, Taylor Dayne, Waitress, the Musical, 42nd Street the Musical, the Prague Philharmonic, the BBC Radio Orchestra, the Newark Symphony, the Omaha Symphony and producers Phil Ramone, Clive Davis, Richard Perry, Phil Galdston and Lauren Wild.  

Through his "Alex Navarro Music" production company, Navarro has released two solo albums, "Closer Than You Think" and "This Moment In Time", both available through iTunes, Amazon and his website.  In promotion of these projects, Navarro has performed in Japan, New York, Los Angeles, his hometown of Houston and in his native Lima, Peru at the Festival de Jazz.  Also under his production company, Navarro has composed and recorded cues for Wal-Mart,Ford Motors, PBS and independent film projects.

Navarro received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music in Film Scoring from New York University.  While at NYU, Navarro was awarded the Elmer Bernstein Award of Excellence in Film Scoring and also served as teaching assistant for the NYU Songwriters Forum under the direction of Eagles member and solo artist / songwriter Glenn Frey.   

As an educator, Navarro is currently on the faculty of the Harmony Program in New York City, is published under Hudson Press as a contributing writer on a series of digital books on keyboard technique for Musician's Institute Los Angeles, served as director of the Jazz Singers at Sante Fe High School in Los Angeles, CA and directed and managed the Arts Alive Music Academy in Orange County, CA.  All along, Navarro has maintained a healthy studio of private students for 20 years, with areas of focus being piano (classical, pop, jazz) and arranging (rhythm, strings, horns).

Navarro is a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802 (New York) and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP-Alex Navarro Music).
